World-Leading Brand and the "Big Boys”: Palm, Inc.

Headquartered in Silicon Valley, Palm, Inc. is widely recognized as the world leader in handheld computing, operating systems, and smart phone technology and products. However, in today’s fast-paced electronics retailing, it is easy for intelligent products—even those of a market leader—to get lost in the chatter and confusion of conventional retail outlets. But Palm was committed to making its products more accessible to its loyal customers—resulting in the Palm Retail Store. And since 2004, Palm has looked exclusively to Levy Commercial Realty to help develop and implement a comprehensive rollout strategy for these stores.

   For a new concept with a small footprint, Palm and Levy aimed very high. The challenge: to convince some of the world’s largest landlords to lease space in some of the world's most exclusive centers for a new retailer. The result—landlords such as Tishman-Speyer, Simon Properties, and Westfield worked with Levy to locate Palm Retail Stores at Rockefeller Center, The Grove in Los Angeles, Union Station in Washington DC, Stanford Shopping Center in Palo Alto, and San Francisco Centre, among others. These beautiful stores have received local, national and international design awards, including “Best New Retail Concept,” “Retailer with the Highest Regard for Customer Service,” and the “Best Retail Specialty Brand Operator.” In addition, Levy Commercial Realty has conducted site tours for the first international Palm Retail Stores.
